Alpha Chi Honor Society

Florida Eta Chapter

Alpha Chi is a co-educational academic honor society with more than 289 chapters in the United States. It's the longest-standing academic honor society at NSU, promoting and honoring academic excellence and exemplary character among all undergraduate majors. Invitations are extended to less than three percent of all undergraduate students, who must meet strict academic and enrollment criteria to qualify for this honor.

Eligible students are invited to join once a year via email. To qualify for Alpha Chi membership, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled juniors or seniors
  • Complete a minimum of 24 credits at NSU
  • Be in the top 10 percent of their major

Students who qualify for Alpha Chi are invited to an induction ceremony to recognize their outstanding academic achievement. Students receive a certificate of membership, a lapel pin, and an honors cord to be worn at commencement (all included in the one-time, lifetime membership fee).

Other benefits include:

  • Academic recognition
  • Undergraduate and graduate scholarships
  • Resume distinction
  • Networking
  • Lifetime membership
  • Federal pay grade
