Beatrix Aukszi earned her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry at Florida Atlantic University in 2008 and joined the faculty at NSU the same year. She brings a wide variety of expertise stemming from her practical experiences of overseeing the operations of the General Chemistry laboratories at Florida Atlantic University for six years, as well as her background in Education, supported by her Master of Science in Teaching with a Chemistry Focus, as well as her dual bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Education.

Aukszi is an organic chemist with a focus on biological applications. She teaches organic chemistry courses and has been teaching honors courses for over five years. Aukszi is an active participant in many honors events, regularly serves as a faculty speaker at Shark Preview events representing the Honors College, and was selected as the honors Spring Banquet faculty speaker in 2018. She has mentored honors students on multiple independent study research projects, resulting in presentations at local and national conferences, and guided students in writing and defending their honors theses.
