Jeremy Weissman, Halmos College of Arts and Sciences, is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Humanities and Politics. His research focuses on the ethical, legal, and social implications of emerging technologies, in particular social media and artificial intelligence. His book, The Crowdsourced Panopticon: Conformity and Control on Social Media, was published by Rowman & Littlefield. Jeremy's work has also appeared in Ethics and Information Technology and The Journal of Medicine and Philosophy. In addition to academic publications, he has written op-eds for Inside Higher Ed and The Sun Sentinel and has appeared on several podcasts. Impacting real-world tech policy, he has served as a working group member helping to develop The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' Standard for an Age Appropriate Digital Services Framework Based on the 5Rights Principles for Children.
