Janine Morris received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Cincinnati McMicken College of Arts and Sciences in 2015. Her research examines how people use digital devices to read and she encourages students to study the technologies in their lives. Morris has participated in Ohio State University’s Digital Media and Composition Institute and Dartmouth College’s annual Summer Seminar for Composition Research. Her students use social media as research tools, create websites, videos, and comics, and created podcasts that were broadcast for International Women’s Day. Morris encourages students to use writing to explore their cities and learn more about their communities.
