Michael Richmond has published articles on various topics in law and literature as well as law and popular culture. These include Gilbert & Sullivan, Paul Simon’s music, the musical Rent, the music of the union movement, and an article discussing commonalities in law, instrumental music, and dance. In addition to the Honors seminar, he teaches courses in the areas of tort law, legal drafting, and the First Amendment. Before arriving at NSU, Richmond served on the faculty at North Carolina Central University and Capital University law schools. He taught at Roma Tre law school (Dipartimento Giurisprudenza) in a program to select students from Roma Tre to join the student body at NSU’s College of Law. In his leisure time, Richmond plays golf, cooks, and roots for teams from Duke and NSU.
