Melissa Bianchi, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts in NSU's Halmos College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches graduate courses in the M.A. in Composition, Rhetoric, and Digital Media program alongside undergraduate game studies and composition courses.

Dr. Bianchi’s scholarship bridges rhetoric and composition, media studies, and ecocriticism. Her works address conversations in ecomedia studies about how video games simulate and complicate perspectives on environmental agency, ecological responsibility, and the posthuman. She has presented her scholarship on these topics at national and international conferences, and her research is published in refereed journals, such as Ecozon@: European Journal of Literature, Culture and Environment (2017), Green Letters: Studies in Ecocriticism (2014), and others. Her recent publications can be found in edited collections including Ecogames (Amsterdam University Press, forthcoming), EcoComix (McFarland, 2020), Mediating Nature (Routledge, 2019), and more.
